Not really.
If you'll remember, back in episode 26 we had a debate on RE5 and whether or not it is racist. We like to think we hit on a lot of talking points before everyone else, but we also claim to have created the waffle.
Well, now someone who seems to be much more educated on the issue has something to say about it. Glenn Bowman, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kent, Canterbury watched the boys over at Videogamer.com play through the first three levels. Here's the article:
Videogamer.com Is RE5 Racist? An Expert Explains
I'm going to beat Stephan to the punch and say Glenn Bowman is white just in case that is something you would like to incorporate into your "Can I believe this guy?" meter.
We have said a lot on the subject. What do you guys think?

I don't think the developers meant anything racist by it, they were just too naive to understand that it has some imagery and undertones that could be taken as racist.
I definitely think it is a topic that needs to be talked about and examined intelligently in games. It is a shame, that the developers didn't embrace it more and actually use the themes they had at hand to tell something truly prolific.
And they might, though I will probably never know as I don't plan on playing the game. The demo turned me off with it's clunky controls and slave like dedication to a design doc created when it was a survival horror game, and not an out right action game.
